The Mission

Munich-based ²»Á¼Ñо¿Ëù¹Ù·½ is developing a constellation of nano-satellites with thermal infrared cameras for automated wildfire detection, severe weather warnings and many other applications. Following the successful launches of our hosted payload missions, FOREST-1 in January 2022 and FOREST-2 in June 2023, we have achieved two major milestones in 2025 with the launch of FOREST-3, our first fully in-house developed satellite, and OTC-P1 our first hosted payload constellation plane. We are now focused on operating these satellites and preparing for the launch of our second set of 8 satellites, OTC-P2, planned for the end of 2025. As we continue to expand our satellite network and advance our in-house capabilities, we are looking for a talented and experienced engineer to join our team in satellite operations. The best candidate will be joining a very motivated and highly enthusiastic team of experts in the fields of mechanical, optics, electronics, spacecraft, and software engineering.

What you’ll be doing

  • Monitor the satellite operations and  control the ²»Á¼Ñо¿Ëù¹Ù·½ satellite fleet.

  • Schedule satellite imagery campaigns. 

  • Execution of LEOP and Commissioning procedures.

  • Be responsible for execution of maintenance procedures during the nominal operations phase.

  • Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve technical anomalies

  • Analyze and process telemetry data and logs.

  • Generate status reports on the spacecraft’s performance.

  • Develop and configure utility tools like: data visualization dashboards, health monitoring, task automation routines, helper scripts, etc.

  • Collaborate closely with our Munich headquarters team by providing daily reporting and ensuring the seamless integration of operations across our international offices.

Relevant Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Software Engineering or a related technical discipline is required. Master’s degree in a relevant field is a plus.

  • Basic knowledge of satellite ground systems, tracking networks, and command & control protocols.

  • Ability to assess and interpret satellite telemetry for operational decision-making.

  • Demonstrated proficiency in Python programming, basic knowledge of Linux, bash scripting, and version control using Git.

  • Exceptional problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure during critical mission phases.

  • Fluent in English, with excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective teamwork and report documentation.

  • Experience working in international environments and diverse teams.


Nice to have

  • At least 1 year of experience in satellite mission control operations.

  • Experience with Earth observation satellite systems.

  • Good understanding of orbital mechanics and space environment related risks.
